Exclusive: New Criminal Charge Against Bill Cosby Is Not Something Alleged Victim Andrea Constand 'Sought Out,' Source Says

January 6, 2016

For the past decade Bill Cosby accuser Andrea Constand has lived a quiet life, out of the media spotlight, slowly building a new career as a massage therapist in Ontario, Canada.

Now, thanks to the recent arrest of entertainer Bill Cosby for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting her at his Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, mansion in January 2004, she has lost her anonymity again.

“This is not something she sought out,” a source close to Constand, 42, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “The DA’s office came to her.”

The source says Constand is doing her best to keep her spirits up as reporters once again descend on her hometown and photographers follow her every move.

“She’s grateful for all the support she’s gotten but does get upset when misinformation is printed about her,” says the source.

“She’s not comfortable in the public spotlight but will continue to cooperate.” CLICK FOR MORE
