Martin Literary signs former PEOPLE Senior Writer Nicole Weisensee Egan

June 22, 2017

Sharlene Martin, President of Martin Literary & Media Management has announced the signing veteran crime investigative reporter Nicole Weisensee Egan as its newest client. During her 25 years plus in the business, Egan has established an impressive record of reeling in exclusive interviews on some of the nation’s most high-profile crime and human-interest stories.

She was the first to take a deep look at the drugging and sexual assault allegations against entertainer Bill Cosby in 2005, when few journalists would touch the story. She earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Temple University in Philadelphia, one of the nation’s top programs of its kind, while working full time at the Daily News in an effort to “make sense out of the senseless.”

She took those same skills with her to PEOPLE magazine in 2005, getting the interviews every other media organization wanted but nobody could get on the country’s biggest stories. She was one of the first national reporters on the scene when milk delivery man Charles Roberts opened fire on 10 Amish girls he’d held hostage in their one-room schoolhouse, shooting and killing five of them before ending his own life. When cop Drew Peterson, suspected of killing two of his wives, holed up in his Bolingbrook, Ill. home to avoid the media camped outside his front door, Egan managed to get Drew to speak only with her. He snuck out the back door of his home, jumping over fences to meet with her at a neighbor’s home and do the interview.  CLICK FOR MORE
