PCAR with Chasing Cosby author Nicole Weisensee Egan on May 2

Harrisburg, PA — The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR), along with the Harrisburg’s Midtown Scholar Bookstore, will host an evening with crime reporter and author Nicole Weisensee Egan on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Egan will discuss her new book, Chasing Cosby: The Downfall of America’s Dad, with a book signing to follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Chasing Cosby follows the criminal case of Bill Cosby, who reportedly drugged and sexually assaulted more than 60 women over the course of several decades. Cosby’s 13-year run from justice ended on April 26, 2018 with his conviction of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. An award-winning journalist and former People magazine writer, Egan was the first reporter to follow up on Constand’s accusation in 2005 and now shares her firsthand account of the Cosby case, including how he committed these crimes and the cultural and social influences surrounding the case.

Throughout the Coby trial, staff from PCAR and the National Sexual Violence Resource Center were on-site at the Montgomery County courthouse providing expert commentary and insight to journalists, including Egan. “This landmark case captured the attention of the nation,” said Kristen Houser, Chief Public Affairs Officer at the PCAR. “The Cosby verdict is a long-awaited and symbolic victory for many survivors of sexual violence.”
